On behalf of the Midland (MI) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., welcome and thank you for visiting our website. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 visionary women at Howard University. Their dream was to create an organization of college-educated women bound by sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. More than a century later, our sisterhood has grown to over 350,000 members in more than 1,000 chapters around the world, including the United States, England, Japan, Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Republic of Korea, Canada, West Africa, and Saudi Arabia.
The Midland Alumnae Chapter (MAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on March 17, 1984, by 12 dynamic and courageous women committed to community service and driven by the same vision and purpose as our Founders. These trailblazing Sorors were attorneys, social workers, educators, counselors, scientists, and entrepreneurs who united in Sisterhood and built a legacy we proudly uphold today.
It is an honor to serve as the new President of this exceptional chapter. I am deeply committed to Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service, and I am excited to carry forward our work under the theme:
“One Delta. One Mission: Anchored in Legacy, Evolving with Intention.”
I am especially passionate about fostering an atmosphere where every Soror feels welcomed, valued, and connected. Together, we will honor our legacy while moving forward with intentionality, purpose, and impact in the communities we serve.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Please follow us on social media and return often for updates on upcoming events and opportunities to support our mission.
Yours in Service, Khadija K. Swims, Esq. President Midland (MI) Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Midwest Region “Anchored in Legacy. Moving Forward with Intention. United in Sisterhood.”
