The Midland Alumnae Chapter was chartered on March 17, 1984 by 12 Deltas:
Pamela Blatch, Linda Martin Edwards, *Betty Washington Greene, Sheila Cobbs Haynes, Linda Moore Holoman, Kimberly Houston, Anita Horne Jenkins, Carmen Quincy, Ramona Reid, *Sylvia McMillian Ryans, Wesley Kelly Spells, and Angela Gilham Wood.

Since that date, the chapter has worked tirelessly to promote the goals of the national organization in our community. Deltas in the Midland Alumnae Chapter have implemented the goals of the sorority through a variety of programs and projects:
At present, the chapter has 20 members. All are registered voters and hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Approximately forty five percent of the membership hold graduate degrees and thirty percent hold terminal degrees.

- Beautillion Cotillion Pageant
- Awarded over $160,000 in financial support to various service agencies in the community
- Collaboration with community organizations to increase awareness for the prevention of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and cancer (breast, colon, lung, etc.)
- Senior Citizens outreach activities
- Recognized and honored African American Pioneers with programs and initiatives such as "Roots and Wings"
- Holiday Bazaars
- Awarded over $200,000 in local academic scholarships to high school seniors
- Actively participates in voter registration drives and public forums regarding social issues
- Cultural Enrichment for families and children
- Science and Math enrichment Program (Super Saturday)
- STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Math) programs
